Delta Amateur Radio Club, KL7DRC was organized in 2020. The first meeting was held at the Diamond Willow Inn on Tuesday, February 18th. This was several weeks before the COVID-19 outbreak and national shutdown. Our Monthly Membership Meetings from March to May were held via conference calls. On June 9th the members of DARC were able to meet in person.
DARC held their first FCC Technician class training on Saturday, May 30th and the morning of Saturday, June 6th. That afternoon DARC held their first FCC Licensing test and five members of DARC became Amateur Radio Operators (Ham's).
Delta Amateur Radio Club (DARC) is an organization of amateur radio operators whose purpose is to further the hobby of amateur radio, and to benefit the community with communications expertise in times of need. Many DARC members are also CERT Volunteers.
DARC is an American Radio Relay League (ARRL) affiliated club. We provide classes for Technician class amateur radio licenses.
The DARC is a recognized non-profit 501(c)(3) charitable organization. We are glad to accept direct donations or contributions. Our expenses include administration, radio equipment, repeaters, advertising and miscellaneous costs. Your contributions would be greatly appreciated!
You don’t need to wait for the monthly meeting to get involved. Contact us to get started right away, and be sure to subscribe to be notified when new information is posted to the site, including technical resources and upcoming activities!
The Amateur’s Code is the creed by which all ham radio operators should aspire to live by. Written in 1928 by Paul M. Segal, then general counsel for the ARRL. You can still find the code published to this day in many ARRL books and publications.
The Radio Amateur is:
CONSIDERATE….. never knowingly operating in such a way as to lessen the pleasure of others.
LOYAL….. offering loyalty, encouragement and support to other amateurs, local clubs and the American Radio Relay League, through which Amateur Radio in the United States is represented nationally and internationally.
PROGRESSIVE….. with knowledge abreast of science, a well built and efficient station, and operation beyond reproach.
FRIENDLY….. with slow and patient operation when requested, friendly advice and counsel to the beginner, kindly assistance, co-operation and consideration for the interests of others. These are the hallmarks of the amateur spirit.
BALANCED….. Radio is an advocation, never interfering with duties owed to family, job, school or community.
PATRIOTIC….. with station and skill always ready for service to country and community.
